Industry 4.0 (Smart Manufacturing)

As part of our digital transformation efforts, continuous improvement program and upgrades, LTI has committed more than RM1,000,000 in year 2024 in line with Industry 4.0 revolution, to transform, streamline and improve our operation system via Smart Manufacturing. This milestone effort aims to enhance our productivity, increase yield, reduce wastage and achieve cost reduction, by promoting process efficiency and best practices across the production floor. Investing in the new Smart Manufacturing enable us to detect, monitor, manage and take immediate corrective actions at every step of our production processes in real-time via live data displayed and monitored on highly automated and computerised equipment consoles.

With this system, we are now able to:

View live, actual production quantity and output vs set production targets in real-time, accurately.
Monitor real-time energy consumption and equipment status, which allows for better control of idling equipment or work area and resource optimisation, in line with Green Manufacturing and Climate Actions Initiatives.
Achieve targeted Adhesive Coating Line Results (in M²) – this is a major breakthrough and enable us to produce a more uniformed and good quality coating, and enhance coating output productivity in square meters over a set period, leading to better quality control, resource allocation and manpower deployment.
Monitor real-time machine temperature, as premium and good quality tapes depend on the stability of temperature fluctuation within specified ranges especially for critical processes such as adhesive coating.
Add at will, additional sensors or data points throughout the production processes and equipment that provide critical parameters for the technical teams during production, thus improving their visibility, decision making and operational control.
